The Arthurs of Limerick - Monday Nov 13th, 2017 8PM

Old Arthurs Quay

Limerick Historical Society will host a lecture by Pat O’Brien of The Celtic Bookshop on 'The Arthur family of Arthur’s Quay and beyond', on Monday next (November 13th) at 8 p.m. in Room 203, Mary Immaculate College. Ask at reception for directions.

The Arthurs were one of Limerick's most prominent merchant families associated with Arthur's Quay, St. Michael's church, Patrick Street, Francis Street & Ellen Street.  Several of Limerick's mayors of the late medieval period were Arthurs and they continued to function as merchants in the period of the Penal Laws.
